Wat Sirindhorn Wararam or Wat Phu Prao also known as glow temple by simulating the environment from Wat Pa Himmaphan or Mount Kailash.

Information and History
The Temple is set on the border between Thailand and Laos in Ubon Ratchathani. The local called âWat Phu Praoâ or âGlow Templeâ called it after the appearance of the Kanlapaphruek Tree Hall. Originally the temple area was a forest with high cliffs, no water sources, so no people lived. Around 1952â1955, Phra Ajarn Boonmak Thitipanyo traveled from Laos. Stay and built a temple with an area 500 rai and named it âWat Phu Praoâ. Due to political unrest in Laos, he moved back to Laos. Therefore, the temple was abandoned. In 1992, Sirindhorn District was separated from Phibun Mangsahan District. Therefore, the name of the temple changed to âWat Sirinthon Wararamâ according to the name of the district. In 1999 Phrakhru Kamolbhavanakorn and restorer came to renovate the temple. In May 2, 2002 the King was granted âSirindhorn Wararam Phu Praoâ Temple with total the land 15 Rai of land.

Highlight
The ordination hall can see from the mountain peak. At the night you can see the green glowing image of the Kalapapruek which is a wall painting at the back of the ordination hall and it is a highlight of the temple.

All type of vehicle accessible by take the road from downtown Ubon Ratchathani to Sirindhorn District use the way to go to Chong Mek Checkpoint about 2 kilometers before you will see the U-Turn and you will see the temple sign on your left-hand side.
Admission Fees
Free but you can donate in the donation boxes in the temple.
